I truly am humbled and honored to represent not only my school at Craig, but in Abilene ISD as Outstanding Secondary Teacher of the Year.  I never imagined this in a million years!  People have described me as a hard worker, and I have always had to work hard to accomplish my dreams and goals, but to receive such an enormous honor as this is unbelievably amazing!  I am ever so grateful!!

One thing my principal told me at the beginning of the year that I have held onto this entire year was that I am Craig's best kept secret.  That night after I won the award, I told him, "Well, Dr. Dukes, I guess the secret is out!"  He laughed!

The ending where Ms. Martinez presented us with the US flag was something that was special to me personally.  Our district just built a new Elementary in honor of Ms. Martinez's sister, so she presented us with the US flag of honor in which these flags were flown over our state capitol to honor us.  Amazing!  We all choked up...truly an honor and an amazing experience.
